Job summary

Victoria Police is seeking an experienced Specialist Analyst to analyse state-wide crime and community safety issues, identifying strategic drivers and enablers. You will provide evidence-based insights for prevention, intervention and disruption, mentoring colleagues in analytical methodologies and contributing to Victoria Police's intelligence capability.

You will undertake strategic intelligence products, briefs to Executive Command, and maintain awareness of national and international trends

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of intelligence principles and methodologies, with well-developed analytical skills and experience applying structured analytical techniques to assess complex issues and inform decision-making.
• Highly developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information, identify key insights, and communicate findings clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to build productive relationships, influence outcomes, and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven experience in the development and delivery of high-quality intelligence products, strategic assessments, reports, plans and proposals that support operational, tactical and strategic decision‑making.

Responsibilities

• Scanning of the environment to identify issues that may impact community safety.
• Conducting analysis on trends, issues and drivers to inform senior decision makers.
• Preparing high quality intelligence products on a range of issues including crime and community safety.
• Developing strategic intelligence to be utilised across the organisation.
• Providing intelligence briefings to Executive Command and other stakeholders as required.
