Job summary

Evolution Mining seeks an experienced Strategic Category Lead to own enterprise-wide procurement categories across its Australian operations. You will collaborate with operational leaders, commercial teams and suppliers to deliver category strategies and secure sustainable supply arrangements.

You will report to the Group Manager Procurement and Supply and lead the lifecycle of critical spend categories, balancing commercial outcomes with operational requirements and long-term objectives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in category management, strategic sourcing and contract management within mining, resources or a comparable heavy industry environment.
• Ability to influence, align and build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience negotiating high-value agreements.
• Ability to develop and implement category strategies balancing value for money with risk and supply security.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end category management lifecycle across critical spend categories.
• Develop sourcing strategies that optimise value for money while balancing risk and supply.
• Partner with operational and corporate functions to identify opportunities for value creation.
• Leverage spend analytics and market intelligence to inform decisions.
• Lead complex sourcing activities and negotiations for high-value contracts and long-term agreements.
• Build strong supplier relationships to improve performance and resilience.
