Job summary

Data#3 is seeking a Senior Storage & Backup Engineer to join the national Managed Services team in Australia. You will work with stakeholders to translate requirements, design and implement robust backup and recovery solutions, and mentor IT staff while ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

You will manage backup platforms across Azure and AWS, monitor jobs, conduct regular tests and audits, and collaborate with IT teams to integrate backup solutions and respond to incidents.

Qualifications

• Storage and backup skills across public and private cloud environments (Azure & AWS).
• Server virtualisation platforms and OS (HCI, Cisco UCS, Nutanix, VMware vSphere).
• Certifications in backup and SAN products are advantageous.

Data#3 is currently seeking an experienced Senior Storage & Backup Engineer to join our national Managed Services team.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Senior Backup and Recovery Engineer, you’ll be:

Working closely with business stakeholders to grasp their requirements and regulatory needs, effectively translating technical concepts and solutions to align with organisational objectives.

Collaborating with technology experts to strategically plan, design, and implement Backup and Recovery processes and solutions.

Providing guidance and mentorship to technology team members, sharing best practices, and exploring solution options to optimise our backup strategy.

Proactively monitoring and managing Backup and Recovery solutions to meet standards and targets.

Acting as a trusted advisor to IT Management, offering insights that shape strategic decisions for ongoing success.

Contributing to the resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive measures for alerts and incidents.

Validating and remedying solution compliance to ensure adherence to security and regulatory requirements.

About you

For you to be successful for this role you will need to:

Configure, maintain, and implement customised backup and restore strategies to ensure robust data protection and recovery.

Manage and optimise backup software components for peak performance.

Monitor backup jobs closely, swiftly resolving any issues to maintain data consistency.

Execute scheduled backups in adherence to compliance requirements.

Conduct regular tests and audits to validate data integrity and recoverability.

Collaborate and demonstrate excellent communication with IT teams to seamlessly integrate backup solutions and provide technical support for inquiries or incidents.

Storage and Backup skills across public and private cloud environment: Azure & AWS

Storage Technologies across multiple vendors; Dell EMC, HPE, EverPure, Lenovo & NetApp platforms

Experience with Server Virtualisation platforms and O/S i.e. HCI, Cisco UCS, Nutanix and VMware vSphere

Possession of relevant certifications in backup and SAN products is advantageous.
