Job summary

Latrobe City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Statutory Planner to join the City Planning team in Victoria. The role involves assessing significant development proposals, shaping planning outcomes and facilitating sustainable growth across Latrobe City, a dynamic regional community.

You’ll work with developers, businesses, government agencies and the community to deliver positive outcomes, while enjoying flexible working arrangements and a supportive, child-safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing and managing planning and subdivision applications.
• Strong knowledge of Victorian planning policy framework and acts.
• Excellent communication with community, developers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to prepare high-quality planning reports and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage a broad range of planning permit applications in accordance with legislation and Council policies.
• Provide accurate and professional planning advice to the community, developers, businesses and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare high-quality reports, recommendations and correspondence relating to statutory planning matters.
• Contribute to planning scheme amendments, policy development and strategic planning initiatives.
• Represent Council at meetings and Tribunal proceedings (VCAT) as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer service and planning outcomes.
