Job summary

Senior Process Engineer opportunity with Santos in Brisbane. Provide specialist process engineering support, technical assurance and governance across Midstream & Energy Solutions assets and projects.

Lead safety-focused outcomes throughout the asset lifecycle and mentor graduates. Based in our Brisbane office, you will collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to optimise reliability and compliance in a complex oil and gas environment.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience in a process engineering role supporting operations and projects in oil and gas, petrochemical or a similar industry.
• Experience in major hazard facility or refining environments (preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of relevant technical standards and the regulatory framework for the oil and gas industry
• Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate effectively in a corporate engineering environment
• Experience mentoring and coaching engineers at graduate or early-career level
• Eligible for RPEQ and chartered engineering status, with a Bachelor's Degree in engineering

Responsibilities

• Perform technical assessments, reviews and assurance of engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with Santos, regulatory and industry requirements
• Collaborate with process optimisation, operations and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate equipment vulnerabilities, reliability risks and obsolescence challenges
• Review and assure contractor and vendor engineering deliverables against legislative, corporate and industry standards
• Support investigations into discipline-related incidents, failures and performance issues, providing technical analysis and recommendations
• Fulfil the role of Change Advisor within the Management of Change process and provide technical guidance on proposed changes
• Ensure process safety, asset integrity and personnel safety considerations are embedded throughout project development, design and execution
• Mentor, coach and develop graduate and early-career engineers to build discipline capability
• Contribute to discipline engineering planning, forecasting and annual budget development
• Maintain compliance with the Santos Management System, Delegation of Authority and all applicable company policies and standards

What you’ll do:

Based in our Brisbane office, the Senior Process Engineer will provide specialist process engineering support, technical assurance and discipline governance across Midstream & Energy Solutions assets and projects. Reporting to the Team Leader Discipline Engineering, the role ensures safe, reliable and compliant engineering outcomes throughout the asset lifecycle.
