Job summary

Telstra seeks a Senior SRE Engineer to lead reliability, security and operational excellence across the CSM mission and Orchestration SRE team. You will build, maintain and optimise cloud-native platforms and Kubernetes environments on AWS, while supporting CI/CD, DevSecOps, automation and observability capabilities.

Qualifications

• Mandatory requirements: 5+ years as Site Reliability Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar.
• Proven expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration in large-scale production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, SQS, Secrets Manager, Kinesis, Firehose, Cost Management.
• Experience implementing DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Strong scripting and automation using Python and Bash; TypeScript/Java advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead SRE practices across the CSM mission and Orchestration SRE team focusing on reliability, security and ops excellence.
• Build, maintain and optimise cloud-native platforms and Kubernetes environments on AWS.
• Develop and support CI/CD, DevSecOps, automation and observability capabilities across the platform.
• Provide operational support, incident management, root cause analysis and continuous service improvement.
• Drive reliability, performance, resilience and capacity improvements through engineering best practices.
• Lead change management and standardisation of SRE tooling, processes and operating models.
