Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a Principal SRE who will operate at the intersection of the Core Platform and Embedded Reliability. You will write production code, re-architect critical systems, and drive reliability at scale across multiple product groups.

You’ll influence architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and shape shared libraries and tools that power Falcon Platform. This role is hybrid, with offices in Midtown Manhattan, Redmond, Sunnyvale, or Austin.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and operating distributed systems.
• 5+ years developing microservices for a SaaS product.
• Go proficiency or willingness to reach expert level.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability.
• Proven architectural decision-making at org-wide scope.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-year reliability roadmaps across product groups.
• Architectural improvements to services, libraries, and platforms.
• Develop and maintain scalable services meeting reliability targets.
• Build libraries for cross-cutting concerns across CrowdStrike's cloud platform.
• Lead reliability, scalability, performance, and cost optimization efforts.
• Establish observability practices and data-driven automation.
• Define and implement service-level objectives and error budgets.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in Go and distributed systems.
• Lead resilience engineering experiments and post-incident retrospectives.
• Collaborate across teams to extract shared patterns into libraries/tools.
