Job summary

Fujitsu Limited in Sydney CBD is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to oversee SQL Server and Oracle databases in production and business-critical systems. The role focuses on database health, performance, backups, and high availability, on a 6-month fixed-term contractor engagement.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, application and security teams to ensure resilient database services and implement patches, security controls, and recovery procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience administering SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Strong knowledge of backup/recovery, performance tuning, and database security.
• Experience with SQL scripting and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
• Experience supporting production and business-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases across production and business-critical environments.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning to support efficient operation.
• Manage backups, recovery processes and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Apply patches and security controls for secure environments.
• Troubleshoot incidents and support high-availability technologies (e.g., Always On, Data Guard).
