Senior Speech Pathologist (level 3)

Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a speech pathologist to join Southern NSW Local Health District. The role requires paediatric clinical expertise across preschool and school-aged children, and ability to work in community health settings with group work and case management.

You will assess, intervene and monitor progress, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to service planning and quality improvement. Current driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• tertiary degree in speech pathology (or equivalent) with eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
• Demonstrated, recent and relevant experience in paediatric clinical practice, including, assessment and intervention with preschool and school aged children, group work skills, and case management in the community health setting.
• Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including collaborative stakeholder consultation.
• Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, time management and computer literacy, and ability to analyse, interpret and implement evidence-based practice.
• Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision to staff and/or students.
• Demonstrated experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of paediatric education sessions to a variety of groups.
• Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process and evidence-based practice.
• Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires, which may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
