Job summary

Northern Sydney Local Health District – Frenchs Forest NSW is seeking a Speech Pathologist Level 3 on a Temporary Full Time basis until 29 April 2027, with the possibility of ongoing employment. You will provide professional, evidence-based speech pathology assessment and intervention at Northern Beaches Hospital - Speech Pathology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Extensive clinical experience with minimum experience as a Level 2 Speech Pathologist.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and manage a demanding workload.
  • Experience in teaching and supervision of students and Allied Health staff.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing
  • Providing professional, evidence based, high quality speech pathology assessment and intervention.
  • Developing positive working relationships with Medical Officers, Nursing Staff, Allied Health Professionals and other staff members.
  • Participating in and providing educational support to patients and their significant others, supervision, quality improvement and professional development.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Requirements
  • A bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience, with minimum experience as a Level 2 Speech Pathologist.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.
