Job summary

St John of God Berwick Hospital in Berwick VIC is seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist Grade 2 for a permanent part-time role (0.6 FTE). You will deliver high-quality services for communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders with autonomy in a multidisciplinary team.

The role includes clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and ongoing service development, with opportunities for education and professional growth within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
• Current full membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
• Senior clinical experience in hospital or healthcare settings.
• Leadership, supervision and mentoring to junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level assessment and management of patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based treatment programs with goals for complex patients.
• Provide clinical consultation within Speech Pathology and multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in ward rounds, case conferences and family meetings.
• Educate and support patients and families on communication and swallowing options and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and triage referrals to ensure timely care.
• Support supervision and development of junior Speech Pathologists and students.
• Lead quality improvement, research and service development activities.
