Job summary

Ability Action Australia is recruiting a Senior Speech Pathologist to support participants across the Port Macquarie region, including Kempsey. You’ll work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment delivering evidence-based therapy to improve communication, feeding and participation in daily life.

As an experienced clinician, you’ll mentor graduates and early career clinicians while shaping tailored care plans in homes, schools and outreach settings, with flexible hours and opportunities

Qualifications

• Current Speech Pathology Australia membership with SPA.
• Experience as a Speech Pathologist or Senior Speech Pathologist beyond graduation.
• Passionate about community-based support for people with disability.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Desire to mentor graduates and early career clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied, community‑based caseload across homes, schools and outreach settings.
• Work with individuals across the lifespan, including early intervention, paediatrics, adolescents and adults.
• Support a range of needs such as feeding, early language, dysphagia, communication difficulties and AAC.
• Conduct observations and standardised assessments to develop meaningful, participant‑centred goals.
• Deliver evidence‑based therapy that builds communication, participation and independence.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes.
• Caseload will be tailored to your experience, interests and professional goals.
• Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.
