Job summary

Ability Action Australia & MedHealth is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist to support participants across the Newcastle and Hunter region. You will work in a supportive, collaborative environment, delivering evidence-based therapy and guiding graduates as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role covers homes, schools, and outreach settings with flexible hours to suit lifestyle. You will mentor graduates and contribute to clinical development and leadership within the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Current Speech Pathology Australia membership (SPA).
  • Experience as a Speech Pathologist or Senior Speech Pathologist beyond graduation.
  • Passionate about community-based support for people with disability.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Thrives in a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • Desire to mentor graduates and early career clinicians.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied, community-based caseload across homes, schools and outreach settings.
  • Work with individuals across the lifespan, including early intervention, paediatrics, adolescents and adults.
  • Support a range of needs such as feeding, early language, dysphagia, communication difficulties and AAC.
  • Conduct observations and standardised assessments to develop meaningful, participant-centered goals.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy that builds communication, participation and independence.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes.
  • Caseload will be tailored to your experience, interests and professional goals.
  • Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.

As our #AAA team continues to grow, we're looking for a Senior Speech Pathologist to support participants across the Newcastle and Hunter region. Depending on your location, you'll have the opportunity to work close to home!

As an experienced clinician, you'll bring your expertise to a supportive and collaborative environment where you can make a meaningful impact in the lives of your participants, contribute to team development, and continue growing professionally.
