The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria, is seeking a senior and highly experienced lawyer to join the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Branch as Special Counsel. You will provide highly specialised legal advice across Government on litigated and pre-litigated matters, shaping responses, negotiations and risk management.

Reporting to the Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor, you will lead with strategic guidance, supervise junior lawyers and contribute to client

Qualificações

• Senior practitioner with experience navigating both litigated and pre-litigated stages of a claim.
• Ability to manage sensitive subject matter and work in a fast-paced public sector environment.
• Strong client relationships and commitment to developing a deep understanding of client priorities.

Responsabilidades

• Providing expert legal advice to Government clients in relation to complex and often sensitive claims and litigation;
• Providing strategic guidance to teams and supervision of files, ensuring the provision of high quality and responsive legal services and advice; and
• Assisting in the delivery of internal training to ensure continuous development of legal staff within the Branch.
