Job summary

ALH Hotels is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to be the right hand of the Head Chef, capable of running the kitchen when the Head Chef is away. You will lead shifts, mentor the team, and ensure every dish leaving the line is a work of art, with a can-do attitude and passion for memorable food.

You will have solid Sous Chef experience in a high-volume pub or similar venue, with up-to-date food safety certifications and leadership skills to command respect and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Hands-on kitchen leadership and service management.
• Ability to mentor and drive a fast-paced team.
• Food safety knowledge and active certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run shifts in the Head Chef's absence to ensure service runs smoothly.
• Lead, mentor and develop kitchen staff to maintain high standards.
• Maintain kitchen standards, portion control and consistent plate quality.
• Oversee stock movement and ensure safe handling of kitchen operations.
