Babylon Sydney is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our high-volume kitchen team, working closely with the Head Chef to keep service running smoothly.

You will lead a hands-on team, uphold top-quality food standards, and help develop junior chefs while maintaining a positive, professional kitchen environment. This role offers exposure to contemporary Middle Eastern-inspired dishes with Australian influence, and opportunities to progress within the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or senior chef in a busy kitchen.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team.
• Strong focus on food safety and high standards of presentation.

Responsabilités

• Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Leading and motivating the kitchen team during busy services
• Ensuring food is prepared and presented consistently to a high standard
• Working across preparation and service in a hands-on capacity
• Helping maintain efficient kitchen operations and service flow
• Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards
• Supporting stock control, ordering and minimising food wastage
• Training and mentoring junior chefs and developing the wider kitchen team
• Helping create a positive, professional and team-focused kitchen environment
