Job summary

Rest in Australia is seeking a Solution Architect to shape end-to-end designs for digital and member service channels, aligning initiatives with technology strategy and governance.

The role requires translating business needs into pragmatic architecture decisions, coordinating with delivery, engineering and risk teams to ensure secure, scalable and user-centred outcomes across web, mobile and contact centre environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience as a Solution Architect or in a Senior Technology Design role delivering digital solutions.
• Experience designing scalable, secure and user-centred digital and channel solutions across web, mobile and service environments.
• Experience designing API-led integrations and working with third-party platforms, SaaS products, vendor solutions and partner ecosystems.
• Ability to translate business outcomes, member experience needs and delivery requirements into solution options and architecture guidance.
• Understanding of non-functional requirements including security, privacy, resilience, scalability, performance, maintainability and operational readiness.
• Familiarity with identity, access management and modern authentication patterns, including OAuth2 and OpenID Connect.
• Experience engaging stakeholders to build endorsement and align to architecture intent through delivery.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD and modern engineering practices for digital delivery.
• Experience with AI solutions in digital/service contexts would be highly regarded.
• Experience with digital personalization, analytics-driven experiences and customer journeys would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end solution architectures for Rest’s digital and member service channels.
• Translate business outcomes and requirements into pragmatic architecture options and decisions.
• Ensure alignment with Rest’s technology strategy and governance standards.
• Design cohesive channel solutions for secure, simple member experiences across touchpoints.
• Identify architectural risks and trade-offs, including non-functional requirements.
• Guide cross-functional teams to implement architecture intent through delivery.
• Prepare architecture artefacts and papers for governance endorsement.
• Contribute to architecture assets, patterns and reference models.
