Job description

ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

ASC is seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to join our IT Architecture team and play a key role in shaping the organisation's technology future. In this senior position, you will lead the design and delivery of complex technology solutions that support ASC's strategic objectives, digital transformation initiatives, and operational resilience. Working across multiple programs and stakeholders, you will provide architectural leadership, governance, and trusted advice to ensure scalable, secure, and business-focused outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture and design of complex, enterprise-wide technology solutions across multiple programs and initiatives.
  • Translate business strategy and requirements into practical, scalable, and secure solution architectures.
  • Provide architectural governance and assurance to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and technology roadmaps.
  • Evaluate solution options, manage trade-offs, and recommend approaches that balance business value, risk, cost, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with senior business leaders, project teams, and technical stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
  • Mentor and support Solution Architects while contributing to the ongoing maturity of the Architecture practice.
  • Contribute to ASC's digital transformation by identifying opportunities to modernise and improve technology capabilities.
About you
  • Degree qualified in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
