Job summary

South Australia Police (SAPOL) invites applications for a Senior Solicitor in the Advice and Litigation Section of the Legal Services Branch. The role provides independent legal advice to the Commissioner, ELT and SAPOL members across diverse practice areas including employment, disciplinary matters, statutory interpretation and coronial inquests.

You will oversee legal files, supervise junior lawyers, and contribute to civil claims management.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with eligibility to practice in Australia.
• Experience in one or more SAPOL practice areas is highly desirable.
• Experience in employment law or litigation will be well regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent legal advice to the Commissioner, ELT and SAPOL members.
• Manage legal files and supervise junior legal staff within the team.
• Support the Managing Solicitor and contribute to civil claims and coronial litigation guidance.
