Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Operations Engineer to join our Project Engineering team and serve as a key technical liaison for utility-scale solar projects across construction, commissioning, and operation.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, this role bridges project design, construction, commissioning, operations and customer support to ensure technical issues are resolved quickly and field learnings are translated into actionable improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in solar, renewable energy, or industrial engineering.
• Experience across design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Strong communication, organisation, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple disciplines and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for projects experiencing performance and reliability issues.
• Lead or support root-cause investigations and corrective action plans.
• Coordinate with internal teams to investigate field issues and resolve them promptly.
• Review field conditions and reports to identify likely causes and next steps.
• Prepare clear engineering reports and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Support escalation management and systematic follow-through.
