Join our Local Government APAC engineering team at an exciting stage of our technology transformation. We’re approximately halfway through a significant greenfield rewrite, modernising established products onto a contemporary technology stack and building the next generation of software used by councils and communities.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll have genuine technical influence, combining hands-on full-stack engineering with architecture, design and end-to-end ownership. You’ll work in a modern, AI-enabled engineering environment where tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot are embedded into how we design, build and deliver software.
This is an opportunity to shape solutions, influence engineering practices and take ownership beyond simply writing code, while contributing to technology that supports important public services.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server, DevOps practices, Kubernetes, Docker, Playwright, application security and production support. Cloud experience across AWS, Azure or comparable environments is welcomed.
We know that when our people are happy, they will work better and have greater work satisfaction. Here’s what you can expect:
and we love this about us.
We provide an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment to all Civicans. There are opportunities to help you grow and be your best.

We have the technology and tools to support you to work from home and come into our offices to connect and socialise with colleagues.

We strongly believe that diversity of experience contributes to a broader collective perspective that will consistently lead to a better company and better outcomes.
