Job summary

HII's Mission Technologies division seeks a Software Engineer 3 to support Navy Training Baseline (NTB) product line, delivering modeling and simulation software for Live, Virtual, and Constructive Fleet training. You will design, implement, test, and sustain distributed LVC systems, collaborating with engineers and SMEs to meet Navy objectives.

As part of the NCTE team, you will integrate across JSAF, JBUS, RAVE, ERM, MDS, NEXUS, JMAC, CS3 and ATD, while upholding security guidelines and

Qualifications

• 5 years' relevant experience with a related Bachelor's; 3 years with a related Master's; or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Java programming, OO design, debugging tools, and Linux environments.
• Experience with multithreaded development and Java-focused IDEs such as IntelliJ or Eclipse.
• Familiarity with Git for software configuration management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaborative team environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and distributed simulation systems.
• Enhance, integrate, and sustain NTB products including JSAF, JBUS, RAVE, ERM, MDS, NEXUS, JMAC, CS3, and ATD.
• Collaborate with technical leads and end users to implement secure software capabilities aligned with Fleet training requirements.
• Apply modeling and simulation techniques and domain protocols (TENA, HLA, DIS) to support distributed training.
• Prepare operating instructions and technical documentation; assist in proposals and user manuals.
• Ensure software standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and NCTE architecture requirements are met.
• Work on-site at NCTE facilities as needed.
