Babcock Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead software maintenance and engineering changes for the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS). You will develop software components and simulators, lead investigations, and ensure solutions meet approved processes and standards.

The role requires Defence experience, ASDEFCON familiarity, and a Washington Accord software engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Extensive relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
• Experience with communications systems, radio-frequency components or related systems.
• Proficiency with a modern Integrated Development Environment.
• Experience working in Defence under ASDEFCON or similar regulated environment.
• Understanding of Defence Capability Life Cycle.
• Accredited (Washington Accord) bachelor’s degree in software engineering.
• CS/Engineering/Math or related discipline considered.

Responsabilités

• Lead software maintenance activities and engineering changes.
• Develop and maintain software components and simulators for DHFCS.
• Lead technical investigations, analyse issues, design, implement, test solutions.
• Oversee changes through the Software Development Environment (SDE).
• Collaborate with integration and test personnel to resolve issues.
• Support customer approvals and controlled release into operations.
