Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the AIR6500 program and drive the MSM application across the full stack. You will evolve the MSM front-end and back-end for the BCS platform in a hybrid in-office/work-from-home setup.

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship eligible for Australian Government Defence security clearance.
• Tertiary qualification in engineering or related technical field.
• Experience within Defence or complex engineering project environments.
• Backend or frontend software languages (Python, JavaScript, C) and UI design.
• Experience in building secure applications in a Linux environment.
• Ability to take part in all aspects of the software development lifecycle with an agile mindset.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support the Battlespace Communication System (BCS) AIR6500 Program. BCS is a next-generation networking product that serves as the centrepiece for multiple projects and campaigns. Combining both developmental and off-the-shelf hardware and software, BCS provides world-leading communications capability for ADF personnel. It can be rapidly deployed anywhere, and its modular design provides a flexible, scalable solution customized for diverse mission needs.

This role will see you applying your software skills across the full stack to design, build, and scale the Mission System Manager (MSM) application powering the AIR6500 project. By evolving the user interface (front-end) and robust core logic (back-end) of BCS MSM platform.

Experience/Qualifications

• Must be an Australian citizen eligible to obtain and maintain an active Australian Government Defence security clearance.

• Backend or frontend software language and open-source package knowledge (Python, java-script, C programming, and UI design) are highly desirable.
