Job summary

Cover Genius is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain AI-enabled solutions for internal assessors, partners, and customers. The role emphasizes AI-first development, IaC, and strong collaboration across product, QA, and engineering teams.

You will lead architecture discussions, contribute code, and raise engineering standards while operating in a hybrid work model with flexible in-office and work-from-home days.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software development with production systems
• Experience integrating AI tools into real workflows
• Designing web services with PHP, Python, and ideally TypeScript
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
• CI/CD, relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB)
• Strong communication and ability to document architectural decisions

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable solutions across platforms for internal assessors and partners.
• Lead design discussions and set engineering standards through code reviews and docs.
• Shape and deliver AI-first initiatives and architect agentic systems.
• Own the full development lifecycle including IaC and observability.
• Collaborate with product managers, QA, and other teams to ship features on time.
• Drive continuous improvement of infrastructure and engineering practices.
