Job summary

Fortescue Metals Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Operations AI initiative in Perth. You will design, build and operate software products that ingest large volumes of operational and sensor data, expose APIs and power map-based front-ends to support material tracking and blend control.

You will work in forward-deployed product squads, collaborating with software engineers, data scientists and operational specialists to deliver practical AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• Five+ years building production software
• Strong C# and .NET experience
• Full lifecycle software ownership
• Backend/ distributed/system design
• API design and systems integration
• Cloud platforms, databases, automated deployment
• Quality practices: testing, monitoring, observability
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Own software products across full lifecycle from discovery to production support
• Design reusable services, APIs, data flows and applications for AI use cases
• Translate operational problems into clear technical designs
• Build scalable, secure systems with testing and observability
• Collaborate with product, operations, data science and engineering teams
• Resolve performance and reliability issues and productionize AI products
• Provide technical leadership within squads and systems teams
• Mentor engineers and improve coding standards
