Job summary

Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network is seeking a Senior Social Worker for Community Aged Care Programs in Murray Bridge. In this leadership role you will provide complex, person-centred clinical care to support older people to live safely at home and to work with rural communities.

You will mentor and supervise colleagues, contribute to clinical education and service improvement, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community services across the RMCLHN region.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be eligible for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Advanced clinical expertise with leadership, capable of independent work in rural/remote settings.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and mentoring to social workers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client-centred practice, cultural safety and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to contribute to strategic service planning, reporting and workforce development.
  • Experience in quality improvement, evaluation and research to inform service development.

  • AHP3 | Allied Health Professional Level 3 | $$112,139.00 p.a. to$120,284.00 p.a.
  • Employment: Full time - Ongoing Permanent - Multiple Positions Available.

About the Role:

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of older people by joining our Community Aged Care team as a Senior Social Worker. In this rewarding leadership role, you’ll provide complex, person-centred clinical care that supports older people to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes. You’ll also mentor and supervise colleagues, contribute to clinical education and service improvement, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and community services. This is an exciting opportunity to use your expertise, leadership and passion for social work to strengthen outcomes for older people across a rural and remote community.

What We're Looking For:

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications, professional membership and eligibility to practise: Must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be eligible for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), with current professional standing/eligibility to practise as required. A current driver’s licence and ability to travel across rural and remote locations are also essential.
  • Advanced clinical expertise and professional leadership: Demonstrated extensive Social Work experience, including complex clinical and consultancy practice, preferably in rural and remote settings, with the ability to work independently, provide expert advice, exercise sound professional judgement and apply evidence-based and primary health care principles.
  • Leadership, supervision and professional development: Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision, mentoring, education and professional support to Social Workers, students and multidisciplinary colleagues, together with a commitment to reflective practice, ongoing professional development, research and development of workforce capability.
  • Person-centred practice, cultural safety and stakeholder engagement: Demonstrated commitment to client-centred practice, cultural safety, community engagement and consumer partnership, with highly developed skills in building effective relationships with clients, families, carers, Aboriginal communities, service providers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Service planning, administration and communication: Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic service planning, workforce development and service redesign, manage projects and resources, use data and technology effectively, maintain high-quality documentation, prepare reports and communicate and negotiate effectively across professional, organisational and community settings.
  • Continuous improvement, innovation and quality leadership: Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to quality improvement, evaluation, research, risk management and service development, with the ability to critically analyse practice, identify opportunities for improvement and implement creative, flexible and sustainable solutions that improve outcomes for older people and the wider health service.

Desired Criteria

Participation in the AASW Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accreditation Program is desirable.
