Job summary

The Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN) is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to lead Community Aged Care Programs. You will deliver complex clinical care, mentor staff, and contribute to research while partnering with health and community services to support older people living at home.

Expect leadership duties, professional development, and collaboration across rural teams. Regional incentives may apply; salary reflects AHP3 scale with relocation and salary sacrifice

Qualifications

  • Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification with current registration/membership.
  • Experience in rural, remote or community aged care settings preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical supervision or leadership experience.

About the Role

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older people? Join our Community Aged Care team in this rewarding senior clinical and leadership role, where you’ll use your expertise to support older people to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes. Working within a rural and remote multidisciplinary environment, you’ll provide complex clinical care, mentor and supervise colleagues and students, contribute to research and service improvement, and build strong partnerships across health and community services. This is an exciting opportunity to shape Occupational Therapy practice, grow your leadership and help older people achieve their goals and live well in their communities.

What We're Looking For
Essential Criteria
  • Qualifications & clinical expertise: Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification with current professional registration/membership, and extensive clinical experience, preferably in rural, remote or community aged care settings.
  • Clinical leadership & professional development: Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision, mentoring, education and leadership to Occupational Therapists, students and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Person-centred & culturally safe practice: Strong commitment to client-centred care, cultural safety, community engagement, confidentiality and supporting older people to achieve their goals and maintain independence at home.
  • Communication & service development: Highly developed communication and teamwork skills, with experience contributing to service planning, project management and effective multidisciplinary and community partnerships.
  • Continuous improvement & innovation: Demonstrated commitment to reflective practice, quality improvement, research, evaluation and developing innovative, flexible solutions to enhance Occupational Therapy services and consumer outcomes.
