PGP Consulting Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Senior SMSF Accountant to own the day-to-day SMSF compliance program within the specialised SMSF Division. You will ensure high-quality service, manage complex funds, and oversee offshore processing while partnering with the SMSF Partner to support delivery and growth.

Qualificações

About the Role

As a Senior SMSF Accountant, you’ll play a key role in taking ownership of the day-to-day SMSF compliance program within PGP Consulting's specialist SMSF Division, ensuring high-quality and timely service delivery, managing complex SMSF compliance matters and overseeing our dedicated offshore processing team. The role will progressively take ownership of compliance workflow and quality control, working closely with the SMSF Partner to support the effective delivery of the SMSF function, while creating capacity for greater focus on technical advisory, client relationships and growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee compliance and reporting for SMSF clients, with a focus on complex funds.
• Review work prepared by offshore processing team and ensured accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage workflows to ensure all SMSF lodgements and deadlines are met.
• Act as the primary quality control point for the division’s compliance program.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and offshore staff.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to efficiency initiatives.
• Support the Partner in delivering client-facing advisory work when required.

About You

You’ll bring:

• CA/CPA qualified, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in SMSF accounting and compliance.
• Strong technical knowledge of SMSF legislation, compliance and reporting.
• Experience managing or reviewing the work of junior or offshore staff.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Client-focused mindset, with the ability to balance technical accuracy and practical solutions.
• A desire to succeed and develop your professional knowledge and capability with an aspiration for career progression.

Whilst training will be provided on our systems, this role does require you to have proficient experience in BGL 360 Simple Fund platform.

Other software systems used in our firm includes:

• FYI Docs – Document Management System
• Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
