Job summary

Thales invites applications for a Senior Simulator Technician in Australia. The role focuses on coordinating a team of technicians to operate and maintain simulator equipment, ensuring maintenance per manufacturer guidelines and timely corrective actions.

You will manage spares, documentation, and liaise with customers to uphold contract availability. You will also develop maintenance courses, act as a Self Certifying Maintainer when authorised, and maintain strong relationships with

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Avionics, Electronics, Computer IT or similar fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Simulator Technician or related fields.
  • Experience in a technical workshop or maintenance environment.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Customer relationship management.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good team morale.
  • Demonstrated self-starter.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising a team of technicians to operate and maintain the supported equipment as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensuring that the supported equipment is maintained in accordance with the manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Coordinating corrective maintenance as and when required.
  • Maintaining tools and test equipment, and ensuring that equipment is in calibration including records and documentation.
  • Managing compliance against relevant Thales and customer prescribed standards and processes.
  • Developing and instructing maintenance courses as required.
  • Acting and undertaking duties as a Self Certifying Maintainer (SCM) when authorised.
  • Co-ordinating spares and repairs to ensure that the supported equipment meets contracted availability requirements.
  • Maintaining a sound working relationship with the customer and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Proactively identifying issues and solutions, keeping the Maintenance Manager informed of progress.
  • Effectively communicating with all levels of staff via staff meetings, written communications and one- on-one communication.
  • Interacting and working with management/employees to promote teamwork.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Manager as required.

Key Activities And Responsibilities
As a Senior Simulator Technician, you are accountable for:

GOOD TO KNOW

Prior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks. Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold PV security clearance.
