T & G Sheetmetal is seeking an experienced estmator to join our Sydney-based team. You will prepare quotations that accurately account for materials, processes, labour, and delivery requirements.

The role requires practical sheetmetal knowledge, strong computer skills, and the ability to make informed estimating decisions. Review drawings and BOMs, perform material take-offs, and coordinate with production to ensure timely quotations.

Qualifications

• At least five years' experience within the sheetmetal fabrication industry.
• Experience estimating and quoting in sheetmetal fabrication.
• Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication details and customer specifications.

Responsabilités

• Review customer enquiries, drawings, CAD files, specs and BOMs to establish full scope of work.
• Prepare accurate material take-offs including grades, thicknesses, quantities, utilisation and wastage allowances.
• Estimate setup and processing times for laser cutting, punching, folding, welding and assembly.
• Obtain supplier pricing for materials, components and outsourced services (e.g., powder coating).
• Identify suitable manufacturing methods and discuss requirements with production team.
• Recognise machine limitations, tooling needs, bending constraints, tolerances and fabrication risks.
• Prepare and maintain estimates, quotations, and material requirements in ERP system.
• Work with management, purchasing and workshop to resolve questions and meet deadlines.
