Job summary

AG Security Group is seeking a Senior Security Technician to lead technical delivery on major projects across South Australia. You will install, program, test and commission alarm, access control, CCTV and IP surveillance systems, while guiding junior technicians and supporting project teams.

The role involves regional travel, ongoing training, and taking ownership of complex issues. A strong focus on safety, detail, and client communication is essential to succeed in this senior hands-on

AG Security Group is continuing to grow and we are looking for a Senior Security Technician to join our projects team.

This is a senior, hands-on role working alongside an experienced team across a range of security systems, technologies and project environments. You will take greater responsibility for technical delivery, programming and commissioning while supporting the technicians and trades assistants working alongside you.

What you will be doing

As a Senior Security Technician within our projects team, you will take greater technical responsibility for the installation and commissioning of security systems for major government and critical infrastructure clients across South Australia.

Your work will include:

• Installing, programming, testing and commissioning alarm, access control, CCTV and IP surveillance systems
• Overseeing installations from cabling and device fit-off through to programming, testing and commissioning
• Troubleshooting and resolving more complex technical issues
• Upgrading and expanding existing security systems
• Supporting the technical delivery of major security projects
• Supporting and providing guidance to other technicians and trades assistants
• Sharing your knowledge and helping develop the capability of people working alongside you

You'll work across different systems, technologies and project environments. Ongoing technical and professional training will be provided to help you continue developing your knowledge and capability.

About you

You're likely already an experienced Security Technician looking for greater responsibility or you may currently be working at a senior level and looking for your next opportunity.

You'll take pride in your work, enjoy solving more complex technical problems and be comfortable taking responsibility while supporting the people working alongside you.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Strong experience installing and commissioning security systems
• Strong programming and commissioning capability
• Experience across alarm, access control, CCTV and IP surveillance systems
• Strong IT skills and an understanding of networks
• Strong fault-finding and technical problem-solving skills
• Experience supporting, guiding or developing other technicians
• The ability to communicate effectively with clients, technicians and project teams
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• A practical, safety-focused approach
• The confidence to take responsibility when technical challenges arise
• A willingness to continue learning and developing your technical capability

Experience, product training or certifications across systems such as Gallagher and/or Inner Range Integriti will be highly regarded, but we don't expect you to know every system we work with.

About our regional work

We want to be upfront about this part of the role as well.

A significant component of our project work is across regional South Australia. Depending on the project, this can mean travelling from Adelaide on Monday, working away during the week and returning Friday. At other times, you'll work across metropolitan Adelaide or undertake shorter periods of regional travel.
