Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Security Platform Engineer to lead configuration standards and governance for proxy, endpoint, and email threat prevention systems. This role is engineering-first, shaping standards and ensuring the highest security outcomes across a multi-platform environment.

You'll work at the intersection of governance and technical depth, presenting to the Traffic Governance Board and delivering audit-ready records to meet SOCI obligations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on security platform engineering across gateway, endpoint protection, and email filtering.
• Focus on policy ownership rather than platform administration.
• Experience presenting to governance forums and translating decisions into engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own and define configuration standards across network filtering, endpoint protection, and email security solutions.
• Serve as platform engineering liaison at governance boards, turning decisions into engineering requirements and change specs.
• Define DLP enforcement requirements at proxy and email layers.
• Own the full MDM/MAM policy framework across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android including compliance baselines and enrolment standards.
• Produce production-grade runbooks, configuration standards, and platform documentation for TI and ELT audiences.
