Job summary

Partner Company in Australia is seeking a Staff Security Operations Engineer to strengthen the security of critical infrastructure and open-source ecosystems. This senior role blends hands-on defense, threat intelligence, risk management, and incident response in a globally distributed environment.

You’ll design, implement, and evolve security operations practices, deploy tools, and guide remediation. Strong background in threat modelling, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and SOC experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent professional background.
• Strong interest and motivation to work at security technology forefront.
• Experience with threat modelling and risk management frameworks.
• Knowledge of security architecture and modern tools.
• Experience with threat intelligence feeds and defensive strategies.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF and ISO 27001 standards.
• Proven ownership and delivery in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evolve security operations standards, playbooks, and practices.
• Improve security architecture and strengthen infrastructure and processes.
• Evaluate, deploy, and improve security tools and practices.
• Lead investigations, containment, and remediation of threats.
• Apply threat modelling and risk management to identify controls.
• Lead tabletop exercises and security operations activities.
• Develop learning materials to strengthen security capabilities.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to open-source threat intelligence and community knowledge.
• Share security insights via technical talks, blogs, and whitepapers.
• Partner with security leadership to communicate risks and drive improvements.
• Plan and deliver initiatives within an agile engineering environment.
