Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in Australia (Melbourne or Canberra) for a predominantly onsite role. Active NV2 clearance and willingness to uplift to TSPV, plus OSA or plans to obtain it, are required; Australian citizenship is mandatory.

You will design and uplift security engineering and operations across the environment, working with security teams to deliver resilient, threat-managed systems and provide guidance to engineers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in Security Engineering or Security Operations with hands‑on focus.
• Experience across multiple security technologies (EDR, SIEM/SOAR, IAM, MFA, PAM, HSM).
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage SIEM/SOAR platforms (e.g. Splunk) including onboarding, health checks, patching and incident resolution.
• Security engineering across endpoint, network, gateway and related technologies.
• Manage vulnerability management tooling and continuous improvement.
• Support incident response activities using enterprise tooling.
• Develop dashboards and alerts; ensure system reliability, security and scalability.
• Provide security engineering advice to internal stakeholders.
• Develop and uplift security operations requirements.
• Participate in change review and approvals.
