Job summary

ConnectYou is seeking a Senior Secondary Design Engineer for Perth to lead and deliver complex design packages across protection, control, SCADA, and metering systems. You will mentor junior engineers, review schematics, and ensure conformance with standards while coordinating with clients and project teams.

You will drive design quality from concept through construction, balancing regulatory requirements with practical site constraints and safety considerations in a dynamic project environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive secondary systems design experience in utilities, infrastructure or industrial sectors.
• Proven track record leading design packages on medium to large projects.
• Knowledge of protection, control schemes and IEC 61850.
• Experience with client and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong drafting and design software skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver secondary design packages across systems.
• Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, schedules and layouts.
• Specify secondary equipment including relays, IEDs, RTUs and panels.
• Ensure design outputs meet standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor graduate engineers and oversee quality.
• Coordinate with clients and project teams on design requirements.
• Support tendering with scopes and cost estimates.
• Conduct site assessments to validate designs.
