Job summary

Amazon Leo is building a cutting-edge SDN-driven control plane for a global LEO satellite and terrestrial network. This role focuses on designing and delivering scalable, high-throughput, low-latency networking architecture and workflows to orchestrate on-orbit payload activities.

You will develop robust software across physical and virtual nodes, mentor engineers, and shape operational processes to ensure reliability and performance at global scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering a modern, flexible, scalable network architecture.
• Implement workflows to orchestrate on orbit payload activities.
• Develop highly-available software for control plane operation on physical and virtual nodes.
• Define and automate processes for software development, testing, and maintenance.
• Provide operational excellence for control plane services and tooling.
• Diagnose routing and forwarding issues across control/data planes and topology.
• Integrate telemetry and topology data into route computation and control systems.
• Develop routing behavior for topology transitions and failures.
