Job summary

Austal in Cairns seeks a Lead Scheduler to develop high-level and detailed activity schedules within the ISS planning framework, to meet project deliverables and exceed client expectations.

You will lead the scheduling team, create project baselines, develop resource plans, and drive standardised scheduling practices across internal and customer-facing teams.

This role requires strong stakeholder management, a naval architecture or engineering background, and eligibility for Defence clearance.

Qualifications

• 10 years scheduling experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role in complex marine environments.
• Tertiary Engineering qualification or Naval Architecture qualification.
• Minimum certificate 101, 102 Primavera training or relevant experience.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong Stakeholder management and customer service focus.
• Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the scheduling team to provide scheduling and planning service to internal project management and ship management teams and the customer.
• Develop high-level schedules and project baselines using a defined frameworks.
• Develop resource plans to support operational capacity planning and program delivery planning.
• Create detailed project and activity schedules for each team delivering products within contracts.
• Drive good practice across the delivery community to ensure schedule consistency, accuracy and reliability.
• Develop standards, processes and workflows to support robust scheduling practices.
• Develop Earned Value Management reporting and variance controls with cost controllers and program leaders.
• Drive continuous improvement of scheduling and reporting system through stakeholder collaboration.
• Accountable for development of high-level schedules and baselines to support capacity and delivery planning of ISS contracts.
