Job summary

The Safe Step is a national organisation investing in safety, risk management and operational excellence. This role supports leaders across a multi-site network to strengthen safety culture, improve risk management, and provide practical advice that improves day-to-day operations.

You will engage with frontline teams and leaders, conduct investigations and audits, analyse trends, and contribute to governance and assurance activities to create real, lasting impact.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting safety in multi-site environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management.
• Experience conducting investigations, audits and risk assessments.
• Ability to build credibility with leaders and frontline teams alike.
• Strong reporting, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Practical, solutions-focused approach with constructive challenge.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to identify hazards, assess risks and implement effective controls
• Lead and support incident investigations, ensuring learnings are embedded across the business
• Conduct audits, inspections and assurance activities across multiple sites
• Support contractor safety, supplier due diligence and operational compliance
• Coordinate safety initiatives, training programs and consultation activities
• Monitor performance data and provide clear reporting, insights and recommendations
• Support governance, compliance and risk management obligations
• Assist with workplace injury management and return to work coordination
• Contribute to safety, risk and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation
