Job summary

Snowy Hydro is seeking a Safety Business Partner to support our Health and Safety Management System across NSW sites with occasional interstate travel. Based in Cooma, Canberra, or nearby Snowy Mountains, you will coach teams, lead behavioural safety initiatives, and assist with incident investigations and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Health & Safety roles.
• Incident investigation qualifications desirable.
• Experience with Safety Management System auditing.
• Knowledge of occupational health exposures and controls.
• Experience implementing behavioural safety initiatives.
• Strong risk management and project management experience.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Proactive, adaptable mindset with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and mentoring to teams and contractors to embed health and safety practices.
• Lead and support behavioural safety programs and Leader Standard of Practice.
• Support event investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Assist with rollout of fatality-prevention and process-safety programs.
• Analyse incident data, identify trends, and develop proactive safety initiatives.
• Deliver safety training sessions on behavioural safety and risk management.
• Provide technical WHS advice and support risk management tools (Start Cards, SWMS, Risk Assessments).
• Conduct safety audits, reviews and provide actionable feedback to enhance safety systems.
