Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking a Safety Manager to join the AUKUS team on Australia’s defence infrastructure program. You will champion a safety culture, provide assurance across complex projects and lead audits and investigations to drive continuous improvement.

Applicants must be Australian citizens and able to obtain an NV1 level Defence security clearance. The role is based on site in Osborne, South Australia, contributing to a landmark national project.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in safety management.
• Working towards certificate in risk management.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.

Responsibilities

• Champion a strong safety culture through Inclusion + Wellbeing principles.
• Provide specialist Safety Assurance expertise across complex projects.
• Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessments and HAZID activities.
• Develop Safety Assurance Plans, Statements and Reports.
• Review assurance evidence against safety and compliance requirements.
• Lead audits, safety reviews and investigations to drive improvement.
