Job summary

Gilmour Space Technologies in Yatala, Queensland, seeks a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to design and implement flight-critical software for rocket systems. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop, test and operate launch vehicles, driving reliability and performance.

The role requires hands-on development in Python/MATLAB and C/C++, GNC leadership, and strong systems engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics or Engineering.
• 4+ years in GNC, Flight Software or robotics design roles.
• Strong programming skills: Python, MATLAB, or similar.
• Low-level development: C/C++.
• Experience with Git workflows or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Responsible Engineer for GNC products and conduct assessments.
• Lead product development processes including requirements, design, verification.
• Integrate GNC with avionics, software, mechanical, propulsion and mission ops teams.
• Build and mentor a high-performing GNC team.
• Develop models of control system dynamics and flight algorithms.
• Design and implement simulation and visualization tools.
• Analyze performance and robustness of flight algorithms.
