Job summary

SMEC on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an experienced Senior Team Administrator to join our Roads & Highways team. You will provide high‑level administrative and project support to project teams and leaders in a fast‑paced professional services environment.

This role focuses on driving consistency, efficiency, and best practice across team operations, including governance, documentation, and stakeholder communications, while mentoring junior staff where required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience in a senior administration, project administration, or team support role.
• Experience within engineering, construction, infrastructure, consulting, or professional services environments.
• Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
• Strong financial and project administration capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivering senior‑level administrative support to team leaders and project managers.
• Coordinating project administration activities across multiple projects.
• Managing complex documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
• Supporting project financial administration, including invoicing, forecasting support, and project tracking.
• Assisting with resource coordination, meeting management, and team operations.
• Preparing professional reports, submissions, presentations, and correspondence.
• Maintaining project governance, compliance, and quality documentation.
• Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes and team efficiencies.
• Mentoring and providing guidance to junior administrative staff where required.
