Job summary

Transport For NSW is seeking a Senior Safety Research & Evaluation Specialist to lead the design, planning and delivery of end-to-end program evaluations that inform policy, investment and road safety strategies across NSW.

Based in Macquarie Park, this fixed-term, part-time role will involve developing evaluation frameworks, analysing crash data and translating findings into practical recommendations for senior leaders and decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering end-to-end program evaluations, from design and scoping through to analysis and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of evaluation methodologies and frameworks, with the ability to select approaches that are fit-for-purpose.
• Advanced analytical skills, including experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Experience analysing crash data and applying insights to road safety programs and initiatives.
• The ability to communicate complex findings clearly and influence stakeholders through evidence-based recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience supporting teams to apply evaluation findings in practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning and delivery of complex program evaluations from inception through to completion.
• Develop fit-for-purpose evaluation frameworks, methodologies and measurement plans to assess the effectiveness of road safety programs.
• Analyse and interpret complex datasets, including crash and road safety data, to identify trends, outcomes and opportunities for improvement.
• Translate technical findings into clear, practical recommendations that inform policy and program decisions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure evaluation findings are implemented and embedded into future programs and initiatives.
• Provide specialist evaluation expertise and advice across a range of road safety projects.
• Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and presentations for senior leaders and decision-makers.
