Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to help build robust risk infrastructure for a fast-growing financial services startup. You will own risk models, analyze portfolio exposures, and produce clear leadership-ready reports while collaborating with product and compliance teams to embed risk thinking in everyday operations.
In Newcastle hybrid work, you’ll evaluate regulatory changes, perform stress tests, and explain complex risk findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Step into this Senior Risk Analyst role and build something that matters in Financial Services.
Regulatory scrutiny in Financial Services has only tightened in recent years, and firms that treat risk as a box-ticking exercise get left behind. This business is a fast-growing startup building smarter risk infrastructure for the sector, and it needs someone who can spot problems before they become headlines. Small team, real ownership, decisions that actually stick.
Building and maintaining risk models that hold up under real market stress, not just theoretical scenarios
Reviewing credit, market and operational risk exposures across the portfolio and flagging what needs attention
Producing clear risk reports for leadership, translating dense data into decisions people can act on
Working directly with product and compliance teams to embed risk thinking into how the company actually operates
Monitoring regulatory changes affecting Financial Services and assessing what they mean for the business
Running scenario analysis and stress tests, then pressure-testing your own assumptions
Solid experience as a Risk Analyst within Financial Services, ideally at a mid to senior level
Strong grip on quantitative risk methods and comfort with tools like SQL, Python or R
A working understanding of UK regulatory frameworks (PRA, FCA) and what good governance looks like in practice
The ability to explain complex risk findings to non-technical stakeholders without dumbing it down
Comfort operating with ambiguity. Startups don't hand you a manual
A relevant degree or professional qualification (FRM, CFA or similar) is a strong plus
£57,000 to £68,000, depending on experience
Equity in a growing Financial Services business, not just a salary line
Hybrid working from Newcastle, with genuine flexibility on hours
A learning and development budget you're actually encouraged to use
Remote-friendly culture and a flat structure where your voice carries weight
Financial Services keeps growing more complex, and firms that get risk right win trust that competitors can't buy. Newcastle has quietly become a serious hub for financial and fintech talent, with lower costs than London and a fast-expanding professional scene to match. For a Senior Risk Analyst who wants influence early and a career that compounds, this is a strong place to build it.
