Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Field Technician to deliver maintenance support for ADF SATCOM systems at HMAS Harman on a fixed-term basis. The role includes training to operate independently, with a 24/7 on-call roster and a focus on RF/communications equipment maintenance.

Qualified candidates will have a Trade Certificate III/IV in Communications or Electronic Engineering, 3+ years post-qualification experience, and be able to obtain NV-1 security clearance as required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in communications or electronic engineering (Cert III/IV).
• Three years of relevant experience post-qualification for senior technician.
• Knowledge of terrestrial or satellite communications systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and off-site maintenance services to SATCOM SPO assets.
• Provide configuration management support to selected mission systems.
• Provide warehouse and supply support for breakdown spares and test equipment.
• Ensure compliance with governance and ITAR obligations.
• Produce routine equipment maintenance reports.
• Be part of a 24x7x365 on-call roster to support customers.

We are seeking applicants who are passionate to provide exceptional maintenance support to ADF satellite communication systems on a fixed-term basis.

As a Field Technician you will provide operational maintenance support of SATCOM terminals and rack-based RF / communications equipment based at HMAS Harman. We are after a senior technician and will provide complete system specific training to enable the applicant to work independently immediately.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision of specialist on and off-site maintenance services to SATCOM SPO assets
• Provision of Configuration Management support to selected mission systems
• Provision of warehouse and supply support activities for Breakdown Spares, Repairable Items and Support and Test Equipment
• Ensure compliance with governance and ITAR obligations
• Produce routine equipment maintenance reports
• Maintain strong customer relations and participate as a rostered member of the 24 x 7 x 365 on-call team

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Trade Certificate III or IV in Communications or Electronic Engineering
• Senior technician will have at least three years relevant experience post-qualification
• Knowledge of and experience with terrestrial or Satellite Communications Systems
• Proficient in Microsoft office tools, especially Excel
