Job summary

Mytra is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance the perception software and robotics firmware across its fleet in Australia. You will collaborate with hardware and software teams, own firmware throughout the product lifecycle, and contribute to real‑time embedded systems that power performance.

You will deliver robust code, lead prototype integration, and help shape architecture while working in a cross‑functional environment in Queensland.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong experience with Python, particularly in application and process level development.
• Experience with C/C++/Rust and system level environments.
• Ability to break down complex problems into incremental progress in CI environments.
• Experience coding in concurrent and multithreaded environments.
• Understanding of electromechanical systems, kinematics, and robotics control.
• Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP networks, and pub/sub like NATS.
• Understanding of how hardware changes affect software and vice‑versa.
• Git and software version management.
• Strong design and maintainability patterns.
• Preferred embedded/firmware development experience.
• Ability to diagnose faults from system data.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality code across layers of the robotics software stack.
• Implement real‑time code for perception and control functions.
• Evaluate performance, maintainability, and reliability of changes.
• Contribute to feature lifecycles from definition to rollout.
• Inform long‑term architectural decisions as software evolves.
• Lead integration of prototype systems, bring‑up, and testing of robots.
