Job summary

The Senior Ranger South Burnett leads and coordinates operations across two work units (Bunya Mountains and Kingaroy), protecting national parks and state forests valued for biodiversity and cultural heritage. You will oversee park management programs, briefings, and budgets, and manage contracts.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential, including engagement with First Nations and external partners.

Qualifications

• Displays a keen interest in protected area management, conservation and natural resource management.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, contributing to plan, prioritise and manage multiple programs and tasks across large or dispersed areas.
• Builds and maintains effective relationships with diverse groups, including First Nations and external clients.
• Acts with integrity and professionalism, with an understanding of relevant legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.
• Communicates clearly and effectively, tailoring messaging to suit audiences and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of workplace health and safety, compliance, emergency response and business management processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence such as briefing notes and report on programs and budgets.
• Oversee the preparation and management of contracts and liaison with internal/external stakeholders.
