Job summary

SMEC invites a skilled Project Controller to join the Rail team, based in North Sydney or Brisbane. This role drives project performance, commercial outcomes and data-led decisions across major rail infrastructure projects.

You will translate complex project data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders, supporting successful delivery. You’ll work closely with project teams to ensure schedules, costs and resources align with client needs and SMEC standards, while developing advanced

Qualifications

• 8+ years of project controls experience.
• Advanced Power BI expertise, including dashboard development.
• Experience developing Power BI reporting solutions in a project or infrastructure environment.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• High-level consulting, stakeholder engagement and client management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills with large data sets, Power Query, pivot tables and complex formulas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project control processes, scheduling and resource planning meet client requirements and SMEC's standards.
• Develop and maintain advanced Power BI reporting solutions and dashboards for project leaders.
• Collaborate with project teams to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of deliverables.
• Compile reasoning and justification behind project performance metrics.
• Manage project deliverables and support successful outcomes.
• Contribute to the commercial success of projects and the Rail team.
• Support continuous improvement through reporting automation and data visualisation.
