Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance project in Melbourne. You will contribute to procurement, subcontract management, and claims processes for variations and time/money entitlements.

The role demands a tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field, and a track record with major construction contracting. A collaborative, results-driven approach and strong negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commercial Law or Construction Management.
• Experience with major construction contracting companies is preferred.
• An ability to measure project quantities will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement of subcontractors and prepare, issue, adjudicate, and award subcontract and supply agreements.
• Prepare and submit progress claims and ensure timely payment.
• Procurement and subcontract interim payment claims processing and final accounts.
• Process claims for variations and entitlement to time and money.
• Prepare, submit and agree contractual claims for time and money.
• Manage and participate in preparation, submission and agreement of variations.
• Advise project management on contractual issues and initiate correspondence.
• Prepare, review and submit reports on equipment and costs within prescribed timescales.
• Review change management.
